This picture is harmless lol

⭐Foreword by SAYA:
*Drum Roll*
Ladies and gentlemen (and others)!
Here is another famous thread from the old 2chan (πŸ˜†yay!)

For the longest time, I had wanted to translate this thread, but I was too lazy because I knew it would need lots of explanatory notes for it to be properly understood by non-Japanese speakers.😱⭐

But this year, since I restarted my blog, I have been getting so many heartwarming messages from you readers, telling me how much they love my blog and how they can't live without it (literally lol), and I realise it's time for me to make more efforts. πŸ˜†⭐

BTW, if you have read this story somewhere else,  please refrain from informing me of the fact, because who the f*ck cares I don't want to feel like I'm disappointing you. 🀣✨

Thank you for coming to my blog and lots of love πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• LOL

The Thread Title:
"A Picture You Must Never See"

1 (OP):

(Note: if you are scared to see it, read the whole post first and then come back.)

You must not see this.

2:
That's bloodcurdling....

3:
>>1
What would happen if we saw it?

5:
Why are they faceless?

7:
What kind of picture is it?

11: (OP)
[To Those Who Saw the Picture]

Now we must pray for the repose of the souls.
(Note: The word Kuyo δΎ›ι€Š is used in the original text. It means a memorial service for the dead. See the links at the end *1).
Please do the following preparation.

Please have a glass of water ready.
Once you have done that, please call forth.

13: (OP)
If you do not perform this prayer for the souls, you will suffer a great misfortune.
I am very serious.

14:
I have finished the preparation.
>>1 san (Note: san is an honorific, equivalent to Mr., Mrs., etc.)

17: (OP)
>>14 san
Then, we are ready to pray.

Please turn off the lights.
We will begin once you have turned them off.
Please call forth again.

19
>>1
I have prepared a glass of water too.
Please tell me what to do next.

21: (OP)
>>14 san
>>19 san
ζ˜‡ζŠœε€©ι–²ζ„Ÿε¦‚ζ₯ι›²ζ˜Žε†ζ†Ž
ζ˜‡ζŠœε€©ι–²ζ„Ÿε¦‚ζ₯ι›²ζ˜Žε†ζ†Ž
ζ˜‡ζŠœε€©ι–²ζ„Ÿε¦‚ζ₯ι›²ζ˜Žε†ζ†Ž
(Note: some unreadable mantra)
(πŸ‘»EDIT: I found out that it is read as
Shou Bastu Ten Etsu Kan Nyo Rai Un Myo Sai Zou)

22: (OP)
>>14 san
>>19 san
Drink up the glass of water immediately.

18:
What's going on

23: (14
>>1 san
Is that all?

24: (19)
Done

26: (14)
>>1 san
Done

25: (OP)
That is the end of the prayer.
You are cleansed of evil thoughts.
Otsukare-sama.
(Note: Otsukare-sama γŠγ€γ‹γ‚Œγ•γΎ means "good work" or "well done")

28: (14)
Much simpler than I thought. Thank you very much.

36:
Why did you deliberately post something which would require such a ritual later?

39:(OP)
>>36
I intend to cleanse people of their evil thoughts.

40:
>>39
Hey, what's the picture about?

41:(OP)
>>40 san
You must not see it.

37:
I am someone who has nothing to lose, so I don't need purification, but it is quite a creepy picture for sure.

43:(OP)
Someone with evil thoughts will be compelled to see the picture.
Someone without evil thoughts will never see it.
Therefore, people who have seen it require to perform the prayer for the souls.

44:
If you tell someone they mustn't see something, they will see it. Don't you think so?

45:
(*´・Ο‰・)(・Ο‰・`*) I think so too  ~

46:
So does that mean >>1 san had evil thoughts too?

49: (OP)
>>46 san
I did have evil thoughts in the past, but I have cleansed all of them through spiritual practices over the years.
Such experience has taught me that I should spend my life for the salvation of other souls.
I am very grateful.

The picture does not carry any grudges.
It is simply a tool to lead people to become aware of evil thoughts in them.

47:
The thread title is literally encouraging people to see the picture

63:
I'm finished....

68: (OP, with "Prayer" typed in the name section)
I sense a nameless vengeful spirit.
May it not bring any misfortune upon you.

69:
I haven't seen it yet (・Ο‰・)
I believe in this kind of stuff and I'm too much of a chicken (´・Ο‰・)

71:
So, what was it all about, in the end?
I have seen it and now what...?

72:
I will wait for others to tell me their experiences, and then I will have a look.

507:
Well...
>>1
That picture in itself is actually harmless.
The real problem is what this OP made those people do.

>>1
Something quite bad may befall to the people who drank the glass of water.
Think about it. Why did the OP use the expression "prayer for the repose of the souls," and why did he make those people drink the water?
Then you will know that the OP has done an abominable act to those people....

512:
>>507
You took the words right out of my mouth

I felt something was wrong from the beginning

Without a doubt, this is a malicious type of CURSE

619:
>>507
>>512
This is WAY beyond a joke

521:
I re-read the beginning of this thread, and I notice that the way OP says "please call forth" after they finish talking about the preparation sounds weird and creepy.
Wouldn't you normally just say "call me"?
Why do they say "call forth" ?

Moreover, those words "ε†ζ†Ž (Note: Literally, Again-Hatred)" at the end of the mantra are creepy as hell.
It doesn't sound like a mantra for the repose of souls.

Those are just my humble opinions, even though I have no knowledge of spiritual matters.

522:
You are absolutely right…(((οΎŸΠ”οΎŸ;)))

536:
By the way
>>1
Notice the OP's words after the prayer ended

Why did the OP write "Otsukare-sama" (Note: in hiragana γŠγ€γ‹γ‚Œγ•γΎ) without converting it into Kanji (Note: γŠη–²γ‚Œζ§˜) ?

(Note: Kanji *2 are Chinese characters used in Japanese.

Here, Otsukare-sama written with Kanji (γŠη–²γ‚Œζ§˜) is made up of three words: お O + η–²γ‚Œ Tsukare + 様 Sama.

O お is an honorific prefix placed before a word.  Tsukare η–²γ‚Œ means tired, and Sama 様 is an honorific showing the highest respect to the person you are addressing.

Picture below: Japanese writing system)

The OP appears to be a formal person who properly converts other words to their Kanji forms, but he somehow leaves that particular word unconverted.

Doesn't the OP actually mean,
"Otsukare-sama (γŠζ†‘γ‹γ‚Œγ•γΎ) --- YOU ARE POSSESSED" ?

SCARY!!

(Note: ζ†‘γ‹γ‚Œ (be possessed by a spirit) and η–²γ‚Œ (be tired) are both pronounced as "Tsukare."
This person is saying that the OP did not convert the word Otsukare-sama to Kanji on purpose, in order to hide the true meaning behind it.)

537: (507)
Yes, you guessed it right...

Sorry for replying late
I've caught a cold but I feel better today so I decided to post a reply

Well, simply put, the purpose of the ritual is to summon restless spirits wandering around us and seal them into a glass of water.
The OP made them drink that.
So, if they are unlucky, they may have absorbed a dangerous spirit into their body with the water.

In short, they are now possessed (otsukare γŠζ†‘γ‹γ‚Œ)...

Usually, this type of water has to be first cleansed with ash from burnt talisman, or with a water-soluble oblaat with a spell written on it, to make it drinkable. Otherwise it would be too dangerous to drink it.
But >>1 purposefully told the others to turn off the lights so that they would summon malevolent spirits.  For this reason, it's quite dangerous.

No person can ever be negatively affected, to a serious degree, by one single picture alone, unless they are spiritually sensitive.
Be careful, everyone (although this warning may have come too late...)

541:
>>537
Now that you mention it, there's a curse that's kinda similar to this one.
The OP is a smart guy.

614:
>>537
I'm seriously freaked out LOL

538:
I never suspected a thing...
Freaked the hell out of me

Thanks for the story, Saya! I really like those threads, lol. I'm still freaked out by that recent translated story about the "country bumpkin". Great work as always, I really appreciate the effort you put into these stories, especially with the explanation.

Now I'm curious about the states of those who partook in the ritual. Were there no further replies from them in the thread?
You're very welcome πŸ₯°❤️❤️❤️
It gives me so much joy to hear that you enjoyed it!

Yeah that country bumpkin πŸ˜†⭐ That was one of the weirdest things I have ever read.

This is all I could salvage from the internet, as the original thread is no longer available for viewing, and only copies of it exist.
But I doubt there's more to it, because if there was, someone would have saved that too.

Thank you so much for your comment ~ πŸ™πŸŒˆ⭐⭐⭐

Hello Saya!
Thank you for the new October read ♡
I love your stories so much. But 2 chan threads like this are my favorites. There's just something intriguing about them that gets you going. And it must have been a a bit difficult to translate it with all the additional details, but thank you so much. You set the perfect atmosphere of the story with the tidbits in between. I look forward to your story every week. ✨️

Jesus christ that was a horrifying story. For some reason it really shocked me lol, i'm never following rituals on the internet ever again.

Ms. Saya, i don't know what story you plan to post for halloween week but can you include a cute picture of jason x sadako on it pls? (Lol)
Hello! πŸ₯°❤️❤️❤️

You're very welcome!πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
I'm conscious that Halloween is nigh 😱 and I'm trying to create good quality posts as best as I can!πŸ˜†⭐

I fear those notes may be a bit intrusive but I don't know how I could have done it differently 😱
I hope they didn't detract from your reading experience ~πŸ’• (it sounds like it didn't so I'm glad lol)

Thank you so much for your sweet, beautiful message!
Take care until next week ~πŸŒˆπŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•✨
I hope you perceived that at once πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I won't ever do rituals of any kind, whether it's for good or bad purpose πŸ˜‚ I'm glad we seem to share the same opinion! LOL ⭐

Oh OK sure 🀣🀣🀣 I can't resist a cute request from a cute reader!

See you again next week ~πŸ’• Take care and thank you so much for your comment!

I looked at the picture. It's not scary at all. But isn't usually the most mundane is the one that is secretly the most dangerous?
Did anyone here do the ritual? Hehehehe.

Anyway, this 2chan story reminds me of those asian movies where children were forced to consume evil spirits in rituals. Wasn't Kayako Saeki also had to do the same when she was a child? Her mom was a shaman and she was made to eat the spirits by her mother during exorcisms. I guess that's why her grudge was so heavy after her murder.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED for Halloween!! Because then there'd be many new and old horror movies showing on streaming channels! Whoops!!!

Thank you for the translation, Saya. *purple heart* <- typed because I'm on desktop and there's no option for emoji *sad panda*

Dont read this or you will be cursed

OooooOoooOoOooOOoOooOOoOOOOOOoooohhh
Hello, nunu! πŸ˜†⭐

You're so brave! I bet half of the people who have read the story haven't seen the picture. πŸ˜†✨ No, it's not that bad, it's just a little creepy!

Kayako sounds like the girl Alessa from Silent Hill!
I have actually only seen the US version of the Grudge, and only the first of the series too! πŸ˜†πŸŽ΅

If you watch some interesting film, please let us know ~ πŸ’– You watch so many films and you're so knowledgeable!

Thank you for those handwritten emoji!🀣✨
Take care and talk to you again next week πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž
Sunny... I hope you haven't done this ritual, because you sound like you are cursed yourself 🀣🀣🀣🀣⭐

I'm such a chicken so I absolutely will not see the picture lol ! Every internet rituals is suspicious 😱😱
I'm very curious about the picture tho.. but I'll leave the picture to my imagination..

Thank you for the story, Saya ! 2chan incidents are my favorites !
It's OK if you don't see it 🀣✨ While it's completely harmless, some people may feel uncomfortable because of how it's being used for a curse ritual! LOL

I will tell you what the picture is about in my first comment above.

You're welcome ❤️ I'm glad you like those stories!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment πŸ™πŸ’•
⭐For those who haven't dared to see the picture, I am going to tell you now what is it about.
The picture is about.... (Scroll down to continue)

Some old Japanese dolls (Hina dolls for Girl's Day to be more precise). A few of these dolls are headless.

I hope it satisfies your curiosity! πŸ˜†✨

I don't believe in all this cursed pictures/photos but WOW the ritual the OP led.. Truly creepy.. but also super interesting! Well I for one am too chicken to perform any kind of ritual hahaha

Really love these 2chan posts as I never know what I'm gonna find πŸ˜†

Thank you too for the extra explanations!

I notice these 2chan threads are really popular! πŸ˜†⭐

Ahhh I love 2chan posstsss!! And it's about rituals/curses too, I'm a happy girl. Thank you for translating them Saya!! ❤
I've had a very rough week and it's going to get even worse next week. So I don't wanna curse myself by looking at the picture. I need all the good luck I can find >_<

Also, what a coincidence, last week you mentioned you were waiting for the next Silent Hill, and 5 days later the news exploded with announcements for their upcoming projects. I hope it makes you feel excited!! Your prayers are slowly being answered πŸ˜‚
Anonymous said…
I didn't check the picture though (lol), because when the author of the thread suddenly said that there's a ritual I became suspicious. Tbh, I've heard these kind of stories (albeit different subjects) where one can send a curse to you whether you're aware of it or not. Or sometimes when one is cursed they can pass it on to someone else to ease the burden. Idk if I read the post wrong or not πŸ˜…, it just reminded me of it.

I was wondering if you can translate or share a story about "Kunekune" or about "Inunaki Tunnel". I find the story/urband legend about those subjecy creepy.

I hope you have a wonderful week Saya-san! Thank you for the post and I'll always support your blog.πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“
Oh you are leaving for Japan soon? How long will you be in Japan? Thank you so much for your comment!πŸ™✨
You seem so busy! Thank you for taking the time to comment!πŸ₯°πŸ’•

Good luck for your work ~πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€✨ I'm sure everything works your way πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Exactly! I wasn't expecting that announcement! And there is a new installment of the game which takes place in Japan 😍❤️ I'm so excited!

Thank you so much again for your comment! I'm so happy that this post made you feel happy ⭐⭐⭐

Take care and I hope you will be less busy next week 🌈✨

omigosh I used to lurk on your blog back in 2013 as a kid and suddenly remembering about it now, so glad you're still active and well!
Yes, such stories exist. I know quite a few stories like that! πŸ˜†⭐

Kunekune is so famous that I doubt if a lot of people would be interested in itπŸ˜…
I'll see if I can do a post on Innunaki Tunnel (if I am not too lazy... LOL)

Thank you so much πŸ₯°❤️ I appreciate your support very much! Much love, thank you so much and have a wonderful week yourself πŸ™πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

This truly hit the spot. Your posts are the peak of my week/month/what ever time-scale you post (lmao, take your time when posting and dont get too pressured!).

In a way the story plot-twist ritual captures the "OG Saya" feel that I have grown fond of in the past 6-7 years. It reminds me of the goosebumps I feel when I read your story about the Living Doll Ritual, or the famous Hitori Kakurenbo. In a weird sense of way, this story somehow made me feel nostalgic instead of scared.

Thank you for bridging the language barrier of all this time, Saya. For us to enjoy getting sleepless nights XD. Here's to another Happy Halloween and more to come! Stay healthy and I wish you further success.
Awww you're so full of kindness!😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for being so loving!

Don't worry about pressurising me! In the past, I used to be such a people pleaser with low self esteem (the worst combination lol) that I felt pressurised rather than happy when people praised my posts🀣 but not anymore! I'm genuinely grateful for your comment! πŸ™πŸ’•

I didn't know as such thing as "OG Say" existed🀣✨ but I understand what you mean! I hope I can make you feel nostalgic again with my future posts! πŸ’Ž✨

I sometimes became sleepless myself because of the stories I post! 🀣🀣🀣✨
I suppose it's OK to make you sleepless, because you people seem to enjoy it🀣🀣🀣⭐

You're very welcome and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! Happy Halloween to you too πŸŽƒ✨
Take care and I wish you much happiness, joy, love and success too ~πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€✨ Much love πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

yesss more saya! as halloween approaches, it was fun to come back when some stories got loaded!
I don't usually mind "haunted photos" and stuff, but for the fun of the story i wanted to see how it played out. i was thinking of that one story where the narrator read a curse step by step and thus made it rebound.

the moral is, always read over the steps thoroughly before attempting anything. i learned that in science class and it applies to recipes and curses alike! so thats why i wouldn't get caught out, haha. anyway the photo is neat, and i like the one you picked too.
Hello! I haven't heard from you for a while!πŸ˜†⭐

Oh! Come to think of it, this story does bear a resemblance to the cryptic story you just mentioned!

You're so wise!πŸ˜†πŸ’Ž✨
I don't know what I would have done. The OP sounds so persuasive.🀣✨

Thank you so much for your comment ~πŸ™πŸŒˆIt was pleasure to hear from you!

You're very welcome πŸ₯°❤️

The picture doesn't actually mean anything. It's just a ruse to get people to do the ritual, but I understand if you still don't want to see itπŸ˜†✨

Sayaa I love posts like this.
4chan used to have a supernatural-board and I remember back in 2008, some legendary threads were archived but the archive website itself broke down and those scary threads are no longer accessible. So I miss discussions like this one.

Hope you'll make more of these! It's fun to read through the legendary scary threads from 2ch this time.
Oh someone should have saved those threads in 4chan!
In Japan, there are many people who have saved the old 2chan threads!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you like these kinds of postsπŸ˜„πŸ§‘✨
