(Translated and Arranged by Saya)

From a 2 chan thread (2015):

1(OP):
I’m afraid you will easily identify who I am, but I will try not to reveal too much in my answers.

2:
Does it taste good?

5(OP):
>>2
I was poor at the time so it tasted amazing to me, but when I think about it now, beef and pork are actually far tastier.

3:
You’ve eaten the bones too, didn’t you? Tell us the truth.

4(OP):
>>3
I’ve broken bones and eaten the marrow inside them.

8:
Why did you eat it?

12(OP):
>>8
I might get attacked for telling you this, but I’m not Japanese.
I grew up in China until I was 14, and we were extremely poor.
My father made me eat it.

19:
No one’s gonna attack you just because you aren’t Japanese.

28(Op):
>>19
Thanks. I appreciate it.

22:
Wait >>1 is Chinese?
Your parents are Japanese?
Why were you in China?

28:
>>22
I’m a Japanese citizen now.
My father was Chinese and my mother was a   second-generation war orphan (Note: a person born to a Japanese orphan left behind in China in the aftermath of the World War II.)
After my father was caught and sentenced to death, I came to Japan with the rest of my family.

9:
Only one person?

12(OP):
>>9
Everyone in my family ate it.
I will tell you more about that later.
(Note: I think 9 was asking if he only ate one person, but never mind)

11:
I know who you are.
You are Sawney Bean.

(Note:
Alexander "Sawney" Bean was said to be the head of a 45-member clan in Scotland in the 16th century that murdered and cannibalised over 1,000 people in 25 years.

17:
>>11
That name is a trauma for me…

14:
>>1
I suppose you can’t tell us the circumstances which led you to it?

23(OP):
>>14
If I tell you that, you will at least identify who my father is, if not who I am, but never mind.

Long story short, my father kidnapped babies and children, killed them, and made us eat them.
It happened decades ago, but it was a big news within China.

15:
Was it tender?

28(OP):
>>15
Not always. I’m not sure if the inconsistency was due to it being taken from different body parts, or different individuals.

16:
You must be Sanji.
(Note: they must be referring to the One Piece character.

18:
Good work, Issei Sagawa

⭐️ Issei Sagawa (佐川 δΈ€ζ”Ώ, Sagawa Issei, 26 April 1949 – 24 November 2022)[1] also known as Pang or The Kobe Cannibal, was a Japanese murderer, cannibal, and necrophiliac known for the killing of RenΓ©e Hartevelt in Paris in 1981.

Links:

Sagawa died in 2022

24:
Does the taste vary depending on the age or gender of the person?

33(OP):
>>24
At the time, my father was lying to us, saying they were goat meat or minced shamo chicken meat, so I can’t tell if there were such differences.

40:
>>33
You can’t be blamed.
Even though it really disgusts me…

53(OP):
>>40
Thank you.
But not many people thought like you at the time.

25:
He murdered them before eating them?
Did you ever catch him in the act?

33(OP):
>>25
According to police reports at the time, my father slaughtered his victims in a mountain hut.
The rest of the family, including me, weren’t aware of what we were being made to eat, up until the day he was arrested.

27:
Can you describe in more details what it tastes like?

38(OP):
>>27
In China, the poorer the people are, the more spices they tend to use in their cooking at home ( because they can’t afford to buy good quality food),  so that makes it hard to tell,
but it tasted like something between horse meat and pork. Sorry if it sounds unclear.

43:
>>38
Your Japanese is so good.
I feel many people (Note: I’m assuming they are talking about foreigners) can speak well but they are not so good at writing.

53(OP):
I actually find it harder to speak it. I still have an accent.

46:
>>38
If your parents were making you eat it, then you can’t be blamed.
I watched a show on Discovery Channel before, where they also said it tasted like pork.

It seems to me it would be much easier to steal a chicken than kidnap a baby,
but he must have had his reasons.

56(OP):
>>46
I think his main objective was to kill children and chop them up, and he made us eat them only because he needed to get rid of the bodies.
I can’t imagine that man doing something purely for the sake of his family.

29:
The way you tell your story sounds so pleasant that it takes away any nastiness from it.

38(OP):
>>29
Trust me, it was extremely hard for me at the time.
We came to Japan not because we wanted to, but it was more like we couldn’t stay in China anymore.

30:
I have eaten my own lip skin before

32:
Why did you start this thread?

41(OP):
>>32
I was just bored

35:
I searched for your case online with no results.
Do you feel any guilt? How did you feel then, and how do you feel now?

41(OP):
>>35
Is that so?
I suppose they don’t cover news from China over here so much.
I think most middle-aged Chinese people would have heard of it.

36:
How does it feel to be a Japanese citizen?
Do you like Japan?

45(OP):
>>36
Hmmm, I don’t think my younger brother was ever bullied or something
but when I came here I was already quite old, so it was hard for me at first.
I couldn’t blend in with other kids at school too.
But I have never thought about going back to China, so I would say being in Japan is better.

37:
That’s crazy.
I imagine when you were brought up in such an environment, it can be easy for you to go astray and turn to crime yourself, but you have never had that urge?

51(OP):
>>37
Looking back, I think my father was probably mentally retarded.
He sounded kind of drunk all the time, and my impression of him was that he was a creepy and scary man.
That mental trait didn’t get passed on to us, fortunately.

44:
Did you ever eat brain?

56(OP):
>>44
No…. I think.

54:
Why someone who has led such an eventful life like you are on VIP board (Note: it’s the name of a 2 chan board they were using)?

58(OP):
>>54
Not that eventful at all.
My life in Japan has been monotonous at best.

55:
I eat my own lip skin every day. We are comrades.

57:
I know you are a sort of victim yourself, but do you ever feel guilty about what happened?

64(OP):
>>57
Hmmm
To be absolutely honest, although I feel bad saying this, I don’t really feel any guilt.
My life before it was so rough that I had no room in my mind to feel guilty.
At the time, when I was in China, we rarely had side dishes and rice at the same time for each meal (we had days where we only had side dishes, for example), and when you lead a life like that, you would eat anything you could lay your hands on.

59:
Are you in your late thirties now?

65(OP):
>>59
Not that young. Mid-forties.

60:
Wow I can’t believe it…
So gross…

Anyway I know it would taste awful.

63:
We can’t choose our parents or which country we are born into, so it’s not his fault.
Of course, if he doesn’t feel any guilt at all about it, then that’s another matter.

68:
Can you still speak Chinese?

69(OP):
>>68
Yes, I can.

70:
I googled but there are too many cases of cannibalism in China LOL

75:
I’m feeling quite sad for you.
Wishing you happiness in Japan.

77:
I wish him a happy life in Japan.
If he is married, may he have a life full of joy and happiness with his family.

Wow! I'm more surprised about the calm conversation lacking trolls on a 2chan, 4chan, or even Reddit thread rather than someone sharing something like that online. More probable that the trolling was left out πŸ˜…

I've been back reading the older post just earlier and see this just posted πŸ‘

The original post is lost so I’m not sure if there were trollsπŸ˜†

Thank you so much for your comment! I hope you enjoy reading other posts too!⭐️

Famines always happen in China, usually caused by the government messing up. Growing in China and noticing he's a post-WWII child, he might have lived through the Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution... which is full of famine.

Wow, that was dark thread. Thanks as always for sharing.

I was intrigued but i'm still so glad that he didn't go into details, i'm super squeamish about these things. I was dry heaving just reading what he said about the brain lol
Saya In Underworld said…
Yes, those were unfortunate times for Chinese people ☹️
The government in the past created some really messed up policies!
I’m glad people over there seem a lot happier in some ways. At least no major famines!

Thank you so much for your comment!πŸ˜†⭐️

Yes, it is! 2 chan no longer exists. It’s been replaced by 5 chan some time ago. I myself never go to 2chan or 5 chan. I only occasionally read sites that copy threads from those image boards.

Thank you so much for your comment 🩷

You’re very welcome ~ πŸ˜†⭐️
It’s a good read, dark but without too many gory details!

Thank you so much for your comment 😊✨

I’m glad it didn’t cause you a cardiac arrest!🀣✨

This thread is oddly nice to read, lacking in details and ending on a heartwarming note πŸ˜†⭐️

If a post is too gory, I always put a warning at the beginning of it, so don’t worry ~ 🌸

Thank you so much for your comment!πŸ’–

Considering the Great Censorship, we will never know the truth. But uh hey, there are websites and also the similar *chan sites that offer all you can feast with your eyes the gore and cruelty videos of daily China.. even today

Glad the person didn't eat brains, otherwise he would have likely died due to prions and we would have never read the story today.
Then again, we will never know when we will actually be involuntary cannibals, such as when food factory workers accidentally get parts of their body in food product and the management just won't bother replacing the tainted foods, when your girlfriend mix her blood with chocolate for you (hopefully not from down below, that's even more gross), or just when you find hair in your food.

Thanks for the story! Now I'm off to get some cheaply priced longer-than-usual pork from the shady dude who live near the woods and some Fava beans and Chianti at the store runs by a Lithuanian.
Aeri chan~ said…
May i ask what site it is, and is it use english? Thankyou~~
Saya In Underworld said…
Those sites are Japanese, of course. If they used English, I wouldn’t have to translate πŸ˜…
Saya In Underworld said…
Funny that you should mention about a girl mixing blood from down below with some chocolate, because there was a story like that on Twitter πŸ˜†

Prion was what came to my mind when I heard them mention the brain too. Some people might be interested in looking up “Kuru (disease)” on Wikipedia!

I hope the pork and fava beans you bought from those honest people were good!πŸ˜†✨ You seem to be living in an interesting place!

Thank you so much for your comment 🌸

honestly most human meat should taste worse, both because of anatomy (domesticated animals have been bred to be tastier - think pork without "boar taint"), and rearing. most farm animals have much nicer care than many (most?) humans, so with their low stress life, free room and board, and prompt medical care, animals will have more tender and tasty meat.

while on the topic, a lot of a meat's flavor comes from the kind of muscle and fat it's made of. like how very lean animals will often "taste like chicken" because thats the reference point most people have about very lean meats. there's a lot of discussion around it, i remember a post speculating what a Trex would taste like based on those factors

im not sorry for the longpost, i got got my MEGA AUTISM BRAIN [thunderclaps, sick guitar riff] activated :B

I appreciate your comment !
Wow, lots of interesting facts! 😊✨

I didn’t know about boar taint!
And it makes sense that pigs reared in farms would be tastier than human meat! (Although it makes one a bit sick to think about it! lol)

I wonder what Trex would have tasted like! Like a chicken, I suppose! 🀣✨

Thank you so much for your entertaining comment!
