————————

Hello, dear Underworld readers!
Here’s a fun ritual you can try this Halloween! πŸŽƒ
Once you’ve tried it, be sure to come back and share your experience with us! 🀣

Overview:

Arrange five candles in a pentagram shape to summon the Red Person.

⭐️What You’ll Need

* A piece of paper cut into the shape of a person
* Two mirrors
* Five candles
* Red lipstick or a red crayon. (If neither is available, use a marker.)
* Scissors
* A black pen

⭐️Instructions

1. Perform the ritual sometime between sunset and sunrise.
    (This includes the time needed for preparation.)

2. On the left half of the paper figure, write your own name in black pen.
    On the right half, write “Rubeus.”

3. Using lipstick, draw a pattern resembling an eye (NOTE: It may be a pair of eyes. This part is unclear in the original Japanese textπŸ˜…) on one of the mirrors.
 Place the pattern roughly halfway between the centre of the mirror and its top edge.

4. Position the paper figure between the two mirrors, which should face each other.
 Place the mirror with the eye pattern on the left and the ordinary mirror on the right.

5. Arrange the candles around the paper figure so that it is at the centre of the circle.

6. Position the candles approximately at the 12, 2, 5, 7, and 10 o’clock positions.

7. Light the candles in the following order: 7, 12, 5, 10, and 2 o’clock.

8. With the paper figure still in place between the mirrors, cut it vertically down the centre, splitting it into two halves.
 Move each half towards its respective mirror.

9. Close your eyes, then slowly open them.
 Facing the mirror with the eye pattern, visualise the Red Person and repeat the following words six times:

 “Please come here. I cannot move from this spot.”

10. Extinguish the candles in the following order: 12, 7, 2, 10, and 5 o’clock. This completes the ritual.

⭐️After the Ritual

- If you want to meet the Red Person: Leave the mirror with the eye pattern in a location near the entrance to your home.

- If you do not want to meet the Red Person: Wipe off the pattern and place the mirror near the entrance.     (Depending on your luck, you may still catch a glimpse of the figure.)

- The other mirror can be returned to everyday use after being kept in a dark place for a full day.

πŸ‘‰WARNINGS

* The candles and paper used in the ritual must ultimately be disposed of in a way that returns them to the earth, such as by burying them.

* If a mirror breaks or something appears in a mirror during the ritual, it is advisable to stop.

* Be careful with the timing to ensure that no sunlight falls on the mirrors.

* During the ritual, make sure that your entire face is not reflected in the mirror with the eye pattern.

* The Red Person may appear as early as the same day, or within a week at the latest.

Hi Saya-san πŸ€—

I have never heard of this interesting ritual. And unfortunately as I'm getting older I found myself getting more and more more cowardly. So I'll be waiting for feedbacks from other brave adventurous readers hehe 😁
It turns out that I didn't turn on the notification for your X acc. So that's why I've been missing your posts for months.
Anyway this is a great Halloween reunion for me. I'll find the time to binge read other posts.

And have you been well Saya-san? It's really great to read from you again. Thank you for the story. πŸ’œ

@nunu Hello, darling. I was wondering where you were!πŸ˜† I’m glad to see your comment!πŸ’– I’m not brave enough to do the ritual either, and that’s why I’m asking others to do it for me🀣 I hope you will enjoy all the other posts you’ve missed😊

I’m happier than ever, thank you! I hope all is well with you too! Thank you so much for your commentπŸ’• Take care!

I wonder how this “red person” looks like, is it just a human painted red? Im too scared to find out though.
@Anon (16 October 2026 at 18:53) I have no idea😱 I’m just waiting for someone to try it and tell me what they sawπŸ˜† Thank you so much for your comment ✨

Crimson Rubeus from Sailor Moon? lol jk. But I’m surprised to see a reference to Arabic geomancy in a Japanese ritual! Rubeus is associated with bad luck, so I won’t be doing this one.
@Sydney Pacione Oh! I had no idea that Rubeus had something to do with Arabic geomancy! (This blog explains the symbolic meaning of Rubeus in detail : https://geomancy.blog/rubeus/) Thank you so much for your comment! I still hope someone tries it🀣. Of course, I don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone though!

Is Rubeus a caretaker? Is his services expensive? So many questions.
@allucitor Even if his service were expensive, you’d have no problems because you are rich af🀣 Thank you so much for your comment!

The reason why I can never try any ritual is because even these simple instructions are confusing to me. When writing on the figure, do I refer to MY left or ITS left? when placing mirrors, is it MY left or the FIGURE's left?
@Anon (18 October 2026 at 05:20) I see what you meanπŸ˜† You don’t want to accidentally summon something even more dangerous by doing it wrong! Thank you so much for your comment!

I understand what you mean- I always want to know what happens with these kinds of rituals, lol. Hilariously, I had just started researching geomancy symbols before you posted this, as I was doing an art piece regarding pictorial symbolism + divination. Small world πŸ˜
