I'd...Yeah, I was reminded of that incident too! I'd heard about paradoxical undressing before that, since I've been hiking in the mountains many times before, and my mom is very experienced in the outdoors. It's fun but often I find myself frustrated with people acting stupidly in ghost stories set in the woods or mountains.... lol. Stay on the path! Honestly it's more scary to me when people act sensible but they get haunted or supernaturally turned around anyway. That's something I notice more in Japanese ghost stories, is that there often isn't a "reason" someone gets haunted. Often it's just bad luck or bad timing. In American ghost stories there's usually more of a "logic" to a haunting, like a cause-and-effect, something the protagonist did wrong. I wonder if it's because in america there's more of an emphasize on individualism, with "personal responsibility" being so valued... I could go on forever haha.

Thank you for replying so quickly! I felt nostalgic for this site and was so happy to see new entries! I thought of it because i missed him having "extra" warm clothes and thought he used his own clothes to stop up the drafts from the door.

Hypothermia can be pretty scary, huh? I didn't know this was supposed to be supernatural, since I think hallucinating an early rescue and wandering out into the storm is plenty scary on its own!

Y'know, the diary writer wrote dec 12, but they really had no idea what date it was.
