Updating Whenever I can

(Translated and Arranged by Saya)

The other day, when I called an elevator, there was already a man in there.
He was standing with his back to me.

Usually, I wouldn’t be surprised to find someone inside an elevator, but it was the first time I saw someone who stood facing away from the door, so I was a bit taken aback.

For a moment, I hesitated to go in, but perhaps he was only surveying the posters and it would be rude of me if I just left… I was being considerate for no reason but I got in anyway.

The man was muttering away to himself.
I decided to stand to the side of the man, leaning against the wall, because I didn’t want to turn my back on him.
Once, I glanced at him, and saw that he was standing stiffly upright, about 10 cm from the wall, his face a mask of pure rage.
He was like an oni (Note: demon) incarnate.

Namusan! (Note: Help me, Buddha!
I prayed that the elevator would arrive at the first floor as fast as possible.
I took the elevator at the eighth floor, so there was a long way to go.

“No you listen to ME! What…? How dare say that, you moron!?”
“I…I…I’m the one at fault here? Really!??”
He wasn’t so much muttering as he was yelling now.
But how on earth can this elevator be so slow … we’re still at the sixth floor… cold sweat was breaking out on my skin.

The moment we arrived at the first floor, I got off immediately, but when I looked back from a distance, it looked as though he hadn’t gotten off.

It was in the following month that I encountered the man again.
This time he was talking to a wall in an underground passageway.
From then on, I started seeing him more often, until at last he started appearing in my neighbourhood.

Oh crap, am I being followed by a crazy stalker?
The thought made my knees shake.

One time, he appeared while I was walking with a friend, so I said, “there he is again,” but my friend said, “who?”
That guy over there talking to a wall, I said, but my friend replied, I don’t see anyone there.
That’s when I realised that he wasn’t an entity of this world.

Come to think of it, when I saw him in the elevator in my company’s building, I had been working overtime and it was already way past midnight — it all made sense to me now.
If he was a ghost, he couldn’t stab me to death or do anything like that.
I actually felt more relieved than upset.

But the things were about to get worse.
Soon, I found him standing right in front of my house.
He was talking to the front door so I couldn’t open it.
I left the house from a back door and escaped to a convenience store.
When I returned, he was gone.

The following day, he appeared inside my house. He was talking to the fridge.
I somehow had this notion that he wouldn’t be able to come inside, so that scared me quite a bit, and I threw some salt over the kitchen (Note: for purification) but it had no effect on him.

I gave up and tried to go to sleep but couldn’t, because he was yelling so loudly.
I spent the whole night wide awake.
Annoyed and exhausted, I finally yelled, “Shut the f*ck up! Go somewhere else!”

Then the next day, as I lay on my bed, he appeared right in front of my face, muttering something endlessly.
I was probably on the verge of having a mental breakdown at this point.
“What’s your problem!? What have I done!? I’ve had enough of this sh*t!!”
I started yelling back at him every time he appeared.

Then one day, my friend saw me at it, and he said:

“Hey… you were talking to a wall…”

Oh… I see. I get it now.
Finally, it all clicked into place.

I went to see the doctor straightaway. I thought I was mentally ill.

But instead I found out that there was a blockage or something in one of my cerebral blood vessel, and I was told that I would have been dead had they not performed a bypass surgery on me.

I’m still unsure whether that man was my hallucination or a real ghost.

Hello, my wonderful friends!
How are you? 😊

I have been quite busy and I seriously need to relax a bit more!
So as I have stated above, I’m going to stop updating regularly on Saturdays.

That just means I might update on other weekdays or Sundays too.

I will let you know when I have updated via my social media accounts.

I feel like forcing myself to update every Saturday is detrimental to my health and it’s causing my translation to decline in quality too.
I might change my mind in the future and go back to updating on the same day every week.

Anyway thank you for your kind understanding ~ I hope you’re ok with it!

Much love and respect πŸ’–

Thanks as always for the story Saya, Please take care of yourself.

Lucky for him to either have his body warn him or entity from outside.

I did take a couple pictures of Pseudo KuneKune. They are on my Instagram.

I will feel more relaxed and be able to upload funny stuff too if I don’t have a fixed update schedule!

Sayaaa thanks for the regular weekly updates, but most importantly, please take care of yourself first!

I don't want you to be missing again like i think in 2017, where you've gone missing and then suddenly come back in 2020

I was so sad when nobody translates Japanese stories at that time

I don't care if you are only updating this blog once every full moon, as long as you update this blog.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for your hardwork until today and please, please take care of yourself first.
@Aditya Lila

I intend to continue updating the blog regularly! Don’t worry!😊🩷

Thank you so much for being so kind!
Take care of yourself too ~ πŸ’–

@Saya totally understandable! Update whenever you can, we will be anticipating your updates :)

And this story reminds me of those hallucinations people get from gas leaks!

Don't be too hard on yourself, upload whenever you feel like it.
I'm very grateful for all your stories since years ago πŸ˜„πŸ™
Remember to prioritize your own well being first 😁
Take care and stay healthy!

Also I remember the story has its real life counterpart, just like in the story but in the end the voice said thank you to the person who had the disease πŸ‘

Hello! Please forgive my late reply πŸ™πŸ»

I should check those stories out! πŸ˜†

What a great blog! I love creepy stories and since I don't speak Japanese I may never have had opportunity to read these if you didn't translate them. I'm going to be diving down this rabbit hole for a bit. Thank you! -Amber

Gooooood morning, Saya!

Thank you as always for the story. I think it's a wakeup call to us all to take better care of ourselves and I'm glad you are also doing it for yourselves.

Worry not, your stories are always high quality. Please stay safe and happy <3

Hello ~ please excuse me for my late reply !

Thank you so much for your caring words ✨ I hope you’re taking good care of yourself too!

I’ve been bit worried because I used to read a lot of books but I rarely read them now😱Especially my eyes get tired so easily (from using social media too often lol. I’m avoiding social media as much as possible now!)
Anyway, so, I would like to have more time and energy to read so I can improve my writing skills too!

But thank you so much for your kind compliments!

Take care πŸ’–

Social media is scary, it feels like you are sucked into a bottomless pit of endless scrolling once you open it lol. I'm also not that active on social media nowadays (like Instagram or Facebook) because I compare myself to other people very easily and that's not good for my mental health.

I am active in Discord though; I found a nice movie community there and I like getting movie recommendations from my new friends. They are so sweet and awesome. Now I have friends from all over the world!
@Anonymous (18 July 2024 at 21:17 )
Yes social media can be depressing πŸ˜†
I try to follow only positive accounts!

Discord sounds good! I’m glad you are having fun there!

Hey Saya, I have been a silent fan for about 9 years already. I just want to thank you for updating this blog for so long and entertaining me for absolutely free.

You are a big reason for my love and interest in Japanese horror, and I have found many things here that I probably won't forget.

I hope you saw my comment on "releasing body from spirit video". I made sure to sent the link for anyone else who would want to see it.

Have you watch Ura Horror?
@ Artistwannabe
Hello! It is a great pleasure to to meet you ~ 😊

Yes! Thank you so much for your comment at the other post! That is very helpful!
I’ll see if I can find the video too and download it😱

I’m gonna start translating again little by little!
Someone said they wanted to read another episode of Master series, so I think I’ll translate one!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment ~ I hope to hear from you again! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»

@ Artistwannabe

Sorry I forgot to answer your question!

Yes, I have watched an episode or two from Ura horror ! They are a lot of fun! 😊

I have the file downloaded if you want it for yourself, I feel kind of cursed having it on my PC though but I don't think I will ever find it again if I don't keep it haha.

I have tried to locate the origin of this for years already with no luck, hopefully somebody who knows more will pop up but I doubt it.

Just let me know if you want the video and I will send you a google drive link! :)

@ Artistwannabe
Oh thank you so much! That’s very generous of you!
I think a lot of the other readers will definitely appreciate it too!

Take Care, Saya!

I really like this kind pyschological horror story where the narrator's pov is kinda questionable, that's make it more chilling
@Freya

Thank you so much!

I like it too! I’ll make sure I translate more of these kind of stories in the future! πŸ˜†

Take care of yourself too🩷

Hello Saya!

I have never commented before, but I have been reading your blog for a number of years! I will read it for a bit, then remember it again later and come read the new updates. I finally decided I wanted to say thank you for all the hard work and time you put into running this blog -- I really appreciate it! Especially now that it's around Halloween, I love reading the spooky stories you post here. : )

I hope you are doing well, and I will see you around!
Sorry, the two comments above were meant to be replies to Alex and Aeri chan’s comments! I wonder why the not are not being shown there πŸ˜…
