This Time...

A young couple had a baby, but as they were poor and could not afford to keep it, they decided to kill it… They went to a lake in the dead of night and having rowed a boat to the middle of it, dropped the baby into the water, while the mother kept murmuring; “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…” over and over again.

Some years passed and the couple decided to marry. Between them they had a new baby girl and the family was living happily together. When the little girl became four years-old, she suddenly started pestering her parents to take her to the lake. The parents were reluctant to go, but finally gave in because the girl was so persistent. As soon as they arrived at the lake the girl said, “Daddy, I want to be on that!” pointing at a boat. Again reluctantly the couple gave in to her entreaty. They were in the middle of the lake when the girl said; “Daddy, I want a wee-wee.” The father, not knowing what else to do, lifted her up above the water so that she could do it, checking first that no one was around. And it was that very moment, when the father’s hands were wrapped underneath the girl’s knees, and both were facing the water, the daughter looked back at her father over the shoulder and said; “Please don’t drop me this time.”

Hi! This story is not my own but something I translated from Japanese into English, so I can't say what happens next. But hope you got the gist of the story. The little girl, in a word, is a reincarnated form of the dead baby at the start of the story.

Thanks for your commment! Hope you visit me again!

Hi Saya,

I like your website, it's a really good idea. I'm a fan of Japanese cinema and so it is very interesting to read about Japanese stories and urban legends. Just one problem though, I haven't been able to view any of your movies, do i need some kind of software?

Hi Sahima, welcome to my site! I'm glad you like it!

I don't why you can't view my movies... You shouldn't need any special softwares.

If you click the movie screen twice it should open up a new window which will lead you to the same video on youtube. Try it, and if you still can't see it after that please let me know and I'll try to think of other solutions.
Thanks for reporting!:)

I heard a similar story:
A family had a baby boy, but he was very ugly so they dropped him off a cliff.
A few years later, they had another baby. When they baby was 2 years old, they went to the same cliff for a family photo when the baby said, "Please don't throw me off this time."

Uwah! This is almost the same as the one I saw from USO Japan. It's about reincarnation.

There's this guy who's in a 4ys relationship with his GF. They went on a cliff (sigh-seeing maybe) then the girl slipped over the cliff. The guy was able to catch her hand and was trying his earnest to pull her up. During that time, he thought of his boss' offer about him marrying his daughter. Seems like he decided that it's once-in-a-lifetime chances so he's dwindling on his thoughts and saving his GF. Thing though, he loosened his grip on his GF's hand. causing her to fall down.

And so, the guy felt guilty over it for some time but eventually married the boss' daughter and had a little girl.

One time the family went out for a trip and the girl cried "wee-wee". The child went out of the car first hurrying to what her father thought somewhere she can go "wee-wee". He stopped on his tracks when he realized where he is. It's the same cliff where he let his ex-GF die. While stunned with the turn of the event, the girls suddenly said "Papa..."

She then turned her head slowly and her voice changed "You won't let me fall down now, would you?"

I love it! Serve her parents right for dropping their first born child! But all the same, the last line really make a chill ran down my spine~

Hmmm...a shocker at the end, but I doubt the ghost of the first child is anything but vengeful...seems she is living on in the second child.

I've read story much like this sometimes ago. This couple is from a rich family, and on the 4th year of their marriage they finally blessed with a child. But eversince the child was born, their family seems to bare a terrible fortune and its only get worst as she gets older. When she turns 4, it get so terrible that one of their family members got ill, the company on the brink of bankrupcy and the mother has miscarriages.. The mother-in-law was convinced that yhe child brought misfortune to the family and forced the parents to purify their daughter. So one day, they went to a picnic by the lake when the most misfortune yet happen. The girl drown.

On the eighth year of their marriage, they were once again blessed with a daughter. This time, it seems that the child brings good fortune to the family. On her 4th birthday, they took her to a picnic by the lake. The daughter begs her parents for a ride on a boat and so they agree. When they finally rowed to the middle of the lake, the girl suddenly cried. When they ask her why did she cried, she said, "you not going to push me like you did my sister right?"
