What Appears On The TV

*Disclaimer - "I" in this story doesn't equal me, Saya!

This is not so scary but it's happening for real and I want to post it here.

About a month ago when I turned on the TV, suddenly, in the middle of the screen and against a black background, a woman appeared, looking limp and wearing green clothes from top to bottom. I couldn't tell exactly but it was something like a green long-sleeved top and green trousers.
The woman appeared only for a second and then it turned back to the normal TV screen, but when I turned on the TV the woman would appear three out of ten times.

What is this...? I thought and called the electrician up to have it checked, but when he came somehow the woman wouldn't appear at all, no matter how many times we tried; and the electrician got annoyed and left. It seems she only appears when I am alone.

As you can expect I was scared so I tried things like keeping my eyes shut when turning on the TV and opening them after a few seconds, or going out of the room as soon as I turn on the TV, go to the toilet, and come back and then look at the screen, but somehow the woman would still be there. And about one second later, as if she had just made sure I saw her, she would disappear and it would return to the normal TV screen.

From one month ago until now the probability of the woman appearing has been getting higher and higher and now she appears nine out of ten times. Now I hardly watch TV at night. I would appreciate it if someone could suggest a scientific explanation for this.

Is she trying to tell you something? If it's lasted this long I doubt shes trying to kill you...
Thank you for your comment, dear. I forgot to mention again that this story is not about me. I'm just translating it into English. So I don't know what to say but yes, it's possible she has grudge agains the narrator!

Is this suppossed to be a true ghost story you found on a forum? That's creepy, I think I would chuck the TV out the window. Or just watch it with people.

I agree with adorably dead, I would just stop watching TV or only watch with friends. But I wonder...if I stop watching TV will she appear on my computer instead? Because I certainly couldn't live without my computer.
Adorably Dead - yes dear. I found it on a Japanese forum and it sounded very real and that's why I thought I would post it on my site too. I'm sorry I scared you though! Thanks for your comment!

wow the tv thing scared me. i cant believe its real but it is! WOW
矎B - you, too? Oh dear! No ghost will appear to a nice girl like you, I'm sure! Chucking TV might be a good thing for me coz that would mean I would have more time to study or read! But yes I would hesitate about chucking computer too!
Anonymous - No more mindless TV viewing on Friday nights for you then!! :D

Don't be sorry, that's why I come here, lol. ^_^ I just got slightly confused from the first two comments. I think if it was me it would freak me out, but what would freak me out even more is if she started coming closer instead of frequently.

It can be psychological, meaning that the narrator may have triggered a mental image relating to a T.V. screen. From what I can really tell is that judging from the green clothing it can symbolize something important in the narrator's life and it is persistent in order to remind the narrator of something that is important. If you hate something more likely you are to remember that particular thing. That is what I think, not sure just my opinion.
Adorably Dead - very true, dear. To have the woman coming closer each time would certainly be scarier.

Underworld_reader - Hello! Nice to see a new face! I think that is a very plausible explanation, dear. He might be having mental problems.

Oh wow, a Saturday post? Can't believe I missed it. The whole ghost in the machine concept is becoming more and more common. Is the story supposed to be true? May I ask what transpired between you and creepypasta.com? I discovered your site there, but I find the stories here to be, generally, far better. Thanks, as always, Ms. Saya!

Ah... and yet... my own arrogance about reading the comments of others has lead me to my Waterloo... you've apparently already addressed the subject of veracity. *sigh*
Teira-chan - Glad you found it creepy!:D thank you!

William - Creepypasta.com published my stories without my permission, although I'm sure they didn't mean any harm by it.I have been severely depressed for the past few days because of the criticisms I got from the readers of creepypasta.com.

Anyway thank you very much for your comment, I always appreciate it. And don't worry about asking the same question again, sir!

Thanks for posting this! Stories that have a glimpse of truth to them are always scarier... and this one is creepy. Why could it happen? leaves one wanting more.
Bryan - true! This story sounds realistic and that's what makes it scarier! It's a shame that, because many stories I translate here are claimed to be true, they often end with a feel of being unfinished. But that, I think, makes them more scarier too!!

The commenters on creepypasta tend to be both rude and stupid. The people in the forums are a bit better behaved, for some reason, possibly becuase most of them bother to try writing, themselves. The owner of the creepypasta site has trouble with the commenters, as well, seeing as they seem to be in the double-digit IQ range, often. They need things spoon-fed to them, mostly, and are unable to grasp things like subtlty. You have to beat your point into their heads with a sledgehammer, from what I've seen on some of my favorite pastas.
Hello the last Anonymous!

I had no idea about the situation on the creepypasta site! When I first saw the comments about my stories there I was so shocked! Now I feel sorry for the creepypasta webmasters!

It's so funny the things you said: "double-digit IQ range";"beat your point into their heads with a sledgehammer"! I like that! Now my knowledge of vocabulary is alot richer thanks to you! LOL Good stuff!

I have a rather lame explanation. The writer was looking at a window instead of a TV? Or maybe someone's messing with his TV set's reception. The electrician wouldn't be able to find it, then.

0.o something that happens often can't be a scientific phenomenally (sp?)
maybe theres a message being sent through? gah i forgot
sorry saya i was hoping this would get through to the narrator instead ^_^;;

I really like this story. Something like that would be so creepy. Actually, it reminds me of something that happens to my mother. She has a backup camera for the car (to show you where you're backing up, so you don't run into anything). It was brand new when she bought it. However, sometimes when she turns it on it flashes a strange picture of a deserted building! Both she and my little sister have seen it, but it never happens when you want it to, so I never got to see it. It does it at random. I'm sure there's a logical explanation, but it's still pretty creepy.

Aww, I didn't realize that your stories on Creepypasta were there without permission. A friend told me some where there. The nature of "creepypasta" are stories that are creepy stories that are copy/pasted and spread that way, thus the name creepypasta, so I'm not all that surprised they didn't ask permission. Still, it's kind of rude for them not to.

But like you said, I'm sure they meant no harm in doing it. They just wanted to share some good stories. :3 Even if some of the readers didn't appreciate them, others must have, and you know someone liked it a lot if they put it on their blog. So, I hope you don't take what the rude people said to heart too much. You have plenty of fans, me included.

i go by the name Uitinla
ruling out that the teller of the story is mentally well and this is paranormal. my reasons for this is because i have heard form many fiends of ghosts manifest themselves on screens such as computer and tv screens. which makes sense, considering in order for a ghost to manifest they need energy, and it would make sense reflecting themselves on a screen would take less energy than manifesting in air alone.
knowing this, if a spirit is consistently ruling a person out alone, and only to them, there is something they want to tell, i believe ghosts may "chose" people, or "be drawn to" some ppl than others because of some sort of connection in a sense. i wouldn't be afraid for this particular ghost as it only wants it's message told so it can rest, or move on. i would tell this person to get a voice recorder, and ask questions and see what happens.

very cool story I'm new to this site and so far i can't get enough! this story if one of the most interesting I've read and I have to say it's got me puzzled. I'm a paranormal investigator so I often look for ghost stories and other stories like that and then try to find out if it's true and this site is AWSOME! now if i could only go to china and japan to really get into the spirit of things. Any ways I enjoy the site any will be commenting often hope you got stories good enough to scare me from sleep!
