(updated) Have you got the ability to see ghost?

Try out this test to see if you have got the ability to see ghost.

1. Close your eyes.
2. Visualize yourself standing in your room.
3. Walk out of your room and make a tour around the whole house in your head, visiting all rooms one by one.

Don't read the rest of the article until you have gone through all the steps above.

*

*

*
Are you done yet? :)

Now, did you meet any strangers in any of the rooms you went into?
If the answer is yes, you are psychically predisposed to see ghost! (Hurrah!!)
And by the way, that stranger you saw in your visualization was a real ghost.

One of my blog readers, Creepingsoftly, guides you through this ritual step by step in the cool video she made below!

Thank you Creepingsoftly! :D

I tried it, didn't see any strangers. Guess I can't see ghosts. :(
Funnily enough, I did see my three best friends - James, Lucy and Anna.

They've been dead for 3 years.

I've discovered I'm terrible at visualizing things. I don't think I really did it properly, it was more a hazy remembering of what the rooms looked like? Although, there was a figure in the loungeroom, but I don't know if it was there just because I'd imagined it to be? Like, because I was expecting something to be there?

Hmmm...

I heard of something like this done before. The one I heard you can also visualize your street and do the same thing.

I closed my eyes and had trouble picturing myself for some reason. I had to really focus on what I looked like, or else I would slip into my own perspective, instead of watching myself.

I first set down my laptop, and got up out of bed, turned stiffly to the exit of my room into the living room. I turned left down the hall toward my roommate's room.

I somehow walked in through the doorway and realized it was all wrong. I rewound to open the door I had passed through, and my roommate was not there, though I know he is.

I turned back into the hall and continued down to the girls' room. I opened the door, and again, they were not there.

I was still having trouble focusing, and my movement was flickering into existence, like a reel of film missing some of its frames.

I opened the door to their closet and it was dark, then turned back and into their restroom. It was bright, like I remembered. I went to exit the room and it was suddenly tinted red, and I was able to see my movement more realistic than I had been able to this whole time.

I walked down the wall, and the red I saw became more saturated, darker, there were dark splatters across my eyes and scratching on the wall. I thought it was just my imagination having difficulty, but I opened the door to the bathroom across from my roommate's room.

I tried to open the door at least. It was at first that I couldn't imagine it. Then I forced myself, and I literally saw myself struggling with the door. It wouldn't open. Something was holding the other side closed.

When I finally opened the door, the dark room had two distinctly red glowing eyes, and a black, mist-like farm reached out for me with ink-like claws.

I refused this part of what I was watching and tried to open the door again.

It didn't resist this time, and I was cut at wildly. I dashed forward for the light to the room, and in an instant, it had vanished.

I walked back to my room and sat down on my bed, picking up my laptop, and could see through my own eyes again, shivering.

Oh, were you supposed to visualize yourself, like seeing through another's eyes? I think I did this wrong.

I was visualizing being in my room, but looking through my own eyes, like I was actually in my room (instead of in the living room at the computer, where I really was). And still seeing through 'my own eyes' looked around my room, and started the tour.

I didn't... see anything I shouldn't have like the strangers/loved ones other people have mentioned, but it was still really weird. I kept having these... mini-blackouts? that came and went really fast and some of them were like diagonal 'slashes' through my vision, where half or most of my vision was blocked but I could still see /some/.
These started almost instantly, and at first I though I was just having difficulties concentrating & remembering what-was-where, but they got even worse as I started "walking" towards my bedroom door.
It wasn't happening nearly as often once I was in the hallway, and nothing interesting happened there or in the bathroom. Then when I was in my mom's (not in college yet, so I still live w/ Mom) room, at first she wasn't on her bed, then *flash* she was there, sleeping & *flash* she was gone again. (She was reading, so I /know/ she was really there, awake and with the light on)

Anyways, that kinda weird-ed me out, so I quickly left. Went into my living room (though not very far into it), through the kitchen, onto the back hall-area & down the basement steps, stopping for a bit in each room to look around and still having the vision problems which got worse every time I stopped to look.
I stopped at the foot of the stairs, did a sweeping look over everything and walked to the laundry area where once I was in the middle of, I was suddenly 'back' and looking at my computer screen.
Besides the flashes and sudden end to my tour, the only unusual thing was in my room (which had no light on) while still being really dim had more light than it should have, and in the hallway & the kitchen (where the lights WERE on) the light was dimmed by about half.

Now, I'd like to know what any one who reads this thinks. Tired and an overactive imagination, or something else on the supernatural plane(is that the right word? I really am tired right now)? Was my ending the tour so abruptly just something in my head deciding I was done?

And if I try this again (preferably in broad daylight, or at least when I'm not super-tired), should I visualize /watching/ myself take the tour?
Actually go fully into rooms and not just stay close to the doorways when possible like I did this time?
Check out the closets (even though I don't consider them real 'rooms)?
Try to finish the tour by actually going back up the stairs and into my room again?

I'd really like to know what you think.

Anonymous said...

Well I tried to do this, but every time I tried I saw a menacing black smoke on my room's door and I'm afraid to visualize myself coming in contact with it, so... Can't go through with it right now.

Anonymous said...

hey will don't worry I did the same thing, it was from my perspective. I also watched myself sitting at the computer plugging my ears with my eyes closed. Awesome experience. Nothing unusual, except for a feeling of being watched from the top corner of my mom's closet when I looked in.
It's like mediation. Thanks Saya. :D

Catty said...

I quit after a few seconds, there was a goddamn huge crowd of ghosts reaching at me.

Morgan said...

I didn't realize I was supposed to be actually watching myself so I did the tour in first person. I started in my room and the entire upstairs was perfectly normal, though everything had the lights on and i was able to manipulate things so that it was summer instead of winter with 4 feet of snow outside the windows and on the patio.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs, there was suddenly a being standing DIRECTLY in front of me. It was an older man, pretty skinny with greying hair. He didn't seem aggressive but the atmosphere around him was definitely not happy either... I toured the rest of the downstairs nervously and kept my attention trained towards the stairs even when i couldn't see them...

Shelley said...

I tried to visualize myself like you said but I keep seeing a pale woman's face with dark red lips when I closed my eyes.. I really wanna try though :(

Xylene said...

I visualized like I was in my room looking around. Didn't see anything out of place in my house - only toured the top floor, I'm terrified of the basement even in my head - but I glanced out a window and saw a girl looking at me from my neighbour's house.

Anonymous said...

I tried this. It's kinda hard for me to do at the moment since i live with two boys (boyfriend and his roommate) and they are both awake playing loud music. But when i got upstairs to where his parents and siblings live i couldn't see anyone there and i had trouble getting through the kitchen like my mind didn't want to go any further. I finally pushed through and saw a dark figure, assuming its a man, sitting on the couch watching the television. I went ahead and checked his parents room, siblings rooms, and the bathroom and walked back out to the living room. The man was still there but he was now watching me. It scared me a little bit but i was turning to head back through the kitchen so i didn't bother to care. The weird part is that before i hit the kitchen doorway i was suddenly back infront of my computer downstairs with a pounding headache. Any ideas?

what do you think he is a ghost a demon or just a figment of my imagination?

Wyndfyre said...

I'm a bit scared to try this. It wouldn't attract anything, would it? I learned that I might be a bit sensitive to ghosts but I'm not totally sure and don't know if it would be a risk or not. I'm dying to try it though.

*paranoid about ghosts*

Wyndfyre said...

Someone told me nothing would happen to me. Well, visualizing it, my TV kind of distracted me and nothing really happened plus I knew what to expect, so I kind of blocked out things. Second time, I kept thinking of a wild-eyed figure in every room. Third time, I did start thinking of my dead pets since I kind of wanted to see them, and while one of my dead dogs weren't there a dead family cat that died before I was born was on the dining room table, jumped off, and went into the family room. In the bathroom I did see the wild-eyed figure again, and at the end as I was walking back to my room I visualized a figure hanging down from a noose in my mom's bedroom doorway.

Hm.

Anonymous said...

I saw something under my bed, felt like I went through something on the stairs, saw some man on the couch watching TV, felt something in the bathroom upstairs, got a screamer vid on the computer screen, and chickened out on the basement and attic steps.
I also made myself play on the internet.

This didn't work for me, I don't think.

I closed my eyes and pictured myself walking out the door that leads in/out of my room (which is in the basement.) As soon as I opened the door, a zombie was standing there. ;___; So I pretty much just ran to the room next to me, grabbed two swords (my brother collects them, so yes, they do actually exist) and cut off its head. More and more of them kept appearing, and I ran through the house attacking them. When I got outside it was dark and cloudy, and they were all standing there, staring at me.

Yeah, what?

Rofl Mao Tsé Tung said...

I pictured myself in my room, that is kind of haunted, and there was a black thing with a white face, and dark sunken eyes, like No-Face from spirited away. In my parent's room and bathroom there were nothing, so I just went to the first floor.

Nothing in the hall, someone in the kitchen, someone in the workroom, two people on the living room. I'm shitting bri/x/ now.

I tried it. I could only see standing shadowy figures. No face, no arms, no legs. Just a standing inky form with a head.

It was creepy since out of the four people I saw (by the middle of the stairs, at the bottom of the stairs, in the kitchen), the first one I found was in my room standing next to me.

Did you try the ritual Saya?

I live in Calgary, that's a large city (Huge city) in Alberta. I live in a two story house with my mother (I'm 18) who is a witch (Literally, I'm not being a jerk) and I tried this, and I got... strange results.

I saw a man in a wide rimmed hat, all black clothing and... kind of no face? A rustic, reddish-brown furred dog, who looked straight at me, and I saw a strange, whitish glowing presence which was in my mothers room. She has a crystal skull that apparently is named Ray (It's actual name is a string of letters that makes no sense) Anyways, I'm going to try this again tommorow when I wake up and see if what I saw was real or not.

I didn't realize I was supposed to do it in third person. Anyway, I made it to my front bedroom (didn't see anyone along the way:( ) and then everything went completely black and then turned blue. the more I tried to continue, the brighter blue I saw until I finally gave up. Anyway, I'll try this again later.

Adit said...

Wait, technically, since it's your own mind, you can create your own "stranger", right?

Because I tried it and all I visualize are the ghosts you wrote about in this blog!

I saw a person sitting on the couch in the front room... someone was sleeping on the floor in the laundry room... a sweet looking girl was sitting in the hallway... there was a woman who seemed to be taking a bath in the bathroom, which was odd... There was a dark mass in my sisters room... The TV in my room (not plugged in) had a white screen, and the TV in the living room was on a static channel which I thought I saw a face in... and I thought I saw a creepy looking face in our car in the garage. Dang, either my imagination got the best of me or our house is really haunted. O_o

@Saya PLEASE GET BACK TO ME ASAP. At first i was able to easily visualize my home, walking through rooms, but as i walked, my vision began to blur, my house was changing slightly, different and new objects everywhere, different layout in some rooms. i came across a woman and a man, very creepy the woman followed. after a while tho (i did this for about half an hour i couldnt open my eyes for some reason D:)she disappeared and i lost sight. through my eyes that is. i could see myself in third person, like i was standing behind myself, looking through someones eles eyes. i could still move, but i was being followed, it was horribly strange and when i finally opened my eyes i felt like i was being watched. theres a loud screeching coming from some rooms and its really creeping me out. any thoughts on this? please respond

As I made my way to the 3rd floor of my house, I could feel something was wrong. I didn't see anything, because it was night. It was a horrible, nasty feeling. I kept wavering between my vision and my mind, like feeling of actually being there in a different, hovering type of thi going on between the feeling of knowing you're in your own mind. I felt my physical body begin to sweat, and I had to get out of there. Kinda, flew down the stairs. Legit, no legs like you can imagine with a ghost with no legs just a squiggly... Mist where their legs should be. What would this be? I did not see any being or person in my vision, just a nasty negative feeling of something there. Please help to enlighten me if you have any knowledge of what I experienced.

I didn't see a stranger, but when I got to my shower room, I felt like there was something in there, and couldn't focus on it for very long.

Does this mean my house is haunted by a pervert...?

Khoa said...

Hwaa, when I did this I saw multiple... things...

My room was good, but there was a strange black hairs woman in my mothers room.

In the bathroom, there was foggy black mist in the corners of the tub...

When I went in the living room, there was several strands of hair hangs off of the ceilings, especially near the walls, and they kept attaching to me >_<;;

The only thing that REALLY scared me was this woman drinking tea in the patio. She has these huge wide eyes and she stared at meeee! ;_; I stopped there before it got worse.

Anonymous said...

...Huh...apparently Mr Blond from 'reservoir dogs' is haunting my upstairs bathroom.

Anonymous said...

I did it, and when I went in my CPU room in my vision, I saw an angry person... Angry spirits O.o

Anonymous said...

I saw two people, but they weren't scary at all. One was playing pool in my bonus room, looking classy with a suit and cool hat... the other was a larger woman washing dishes in my kitchen. The only other thing is when I went into my parents' room, it got bright and misty in there. Magical perhaps.

Haravanda said...

I actually read the below part and kind of scared so I guess I won't be doing this... plus I would have big difficulty to turn myself back to normal.
Also currently I'm living in an hundred year old boarding school... and I'm one of those who are sensitive to ghost (I've seen them twice in my life and had one actually followed me home once...) so I don't think I would really risk doing so... Maybe I can get a friend to try this or something...

Ryan said...

It's hard to tell whether or not this worked, or if my imagination decided to run rampant. My third person visualization was very clear. It seemed that my house was clear, until I walked into the kitchen. A small man with a disfigured face, odd limp, and a large pair of shears slowly followed me around. I can only imagine that this is my brain conjuring up Bobby Barrows from memory. I ran back to where I had closed my eyes to visualize, and opened my eyes. It's rather chilly in here, and yet I'm sweating. Is this just a result of over imagination fueled by adrenaline, or should I take this as a sensitivity to spirits?

i tried it and while i visualizing i felt like someone was watching me while i was doing this i have people living with me (relatives, i hate to be alone) but they're asleep. anyway when i started in my room i saw myself on the laptop (the laptop is in the kitchen it stays in the kitchen, it's my dads for work but he let's me use it) but it looked like i didn't noticed myself like i wasn't there but i didn't care i continued into the living room and it looked like a black shadow form by the lamp, i got scared a little because i hate the dark (a friend of mine went missing in the dark, we were close) but i remembered carrying a flashlight with me like always (the dark remember) but i checked my pocked i didn't have it and the dark figure came at me! i ran into my parents room and hid in the closet with the light on, of course it found me so i closed my eyes, but it didn't touch me like it was afraid of the light, then i saw my flashlight in my mom's shoe (??) and flash it on the dark figure and it turned into dust, i don't know what just happened, but i couldn't open my eyes for a while then when i opened my eyes after what felt like hours i went to my parent's room i saw dust or ashes in front of the closet and the light of my parent's closet was on and i remembered it being off....

I tried. I tried like a couple times to visualise myself back then. And I saw myself. Yes I'm me myself. But at my sight, as I'm walking exploring every single room on my apartment, there's a pale face in front me blocking. She's like really, staring right to my face!! IDK how to explain this. But I think she's hanging in front of my face and didn't let me visualize anything! What's the matter if she's a real ghost anyway?! >:(

SAYA said...

@Rozaline: don't worry dear. No harm will ever come to you.

venti said...

This seems a little flawed. I'm sure curiosity got the better of most of us, and conitued reading without doing the visualization. Since we are told that if we saw someone in our visualization we have an 'ability', the idea is already planted in our subconscious. so when we do visualization thing, we come up with images we associate with ghost--unconsciously of course.

Once and idea is planted

you can never uproot it.

SAYA said...

@venti: yeah, that's why you shouldn't read on until you've done the visualization.

It's not flawed, you just didn't follow the instruction.

a strnge thing happened to me just now.
i was walking through our house (really small one-floor terraced house apartment) and it had gone swimmingly. i left from my room, went through our house (two-part hallway, bathroom and sauna, living room, kitchen) when i remembered i hadn't visited my little sister's room yet. she's still probably awake, but i imagined her to be sleeping. i sneaked to her room, pitch-black, went through it to visit a small built-in-the-house closet, and when i opened the door in my visualization, i heard a creak in the real life. i panicked a bit, and ran back to my room. i'm slightly concerned about this. could this mean something? please tell me. i haven't yet read the other comments, but i will and try to find something that might have something to do with my case.

@riisiliini: my dear, don't worry too much. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything bad. If you can keep your mind healthy and free from unnecessary worries and fears, then you'll be able to keep evil things at bay!

@ian: in answer to your last question, yes, you could see creatures other than ghosts. That is something I'm hoping to talk about in my new article about the same ritual. It might take a while until it's ready though!

Something kept following me from room to room. A dark silhouette liked to appear in a room I was looking into, or it would manifest in the hallway behind in a still fashion, such as the angels from doctor who.

I saw an old man in an army uniform who had mud and dirt all over him in my laundry!
Maybe he needed to wash his clothes?

A-ah, I went through my house, kind of in first person, but whenever I looked in a mirror it wasn't me, but a completely white form? What's this mean?

@The second last Anon: Are you sure it wasn't your dad? lol

@all the other people..... I really need to put up the sequel to this ritual quickly. Now I'm feeling bad..

I was able to visualize my whole house... every room, nook, and cranny, very clearly... and there were so many of them... Luckily I saw none in my room nor my brother's. But there was one in the guest room, kitchen, lounge... study... and those are the rooms I am completely scared of. Not even funny scared of sort of thing.

I remember trying this before and seeing shadowy figures. I tried again now and when I get to my room and my parents room everything is hazy and black and something keeps throwing me out of the room and makes my head hurt :(

My sisters made me do this for fun. They never told me it was a ghost test. I thought it was a "How-well-do-you-know-the-layout-of-your-house-test". Like other people, I saw shadowy figures. Usually, they were just chillin' in the corners or rooms or behind lamps. It was kind of freaky. I think those shadowy figures/djiin are kind of common. I hope. ;))

My sisters and I used to do something similar to this when we were younger. I would close my eyes and my other sister would rub the corners of my eyes and tell me to envision myself outside of my house. She would then instruct me to go through the house and open every door until I met someone. Once I did she told me to ask them questions... Sometimes they would answer. Maybe it was all in my imagination (I've always had an overactive imagination), but it was a really creepy game... And usually the people I would meet were people I didn't know... But it was fun. ^^ I miss playing it~

Also! I'm glad to see you posting again!! You're one of my favorite horror bloggers!

I did it, and while I still managed to watch myself, I was able to see two people in the living room, thought their shapes were inconstant, as if my mind was trying to fit them into things I had already seen, but was unable to. And then after I finished it, I felt a chill on my spine and looked at the television... On the turned of screen, I can see a bunch of fingerprints. I dk if that's even related or if they're recent, but creeped me out anyway x3.

Nope, didn't see anyone.

I think this isn't really smart to do since you open up your energy-field for anything to get it.
