I used to work for a machine parts factory.

One time, I heard a senpai tell a guy called Yamaue, "don't come to work wearing a stupid hat like that.” 

I looked in their direction, and saw what looked like a thick pile of black yarn coiled around Yamaue’s head. 

But Yamaue said, “Huh? I’m not wearing a hat,” feeling his head. 

When I looked at him again, he wasn’t wearing a hat or anything, and both the senpai and I went, “what ?”

That day, all morning, every time Yamaue saw someone, the same topic of the hat was brought up, but when the other person looked at him again, he would always be just his usual short-haired self, without a hat. 

Yamaue of course had no clue as to why people kept talking about a hat to him. 

And that same afternoon, while working on a machine, Yamaue died by having his head crushed by that machine.
