Mirror

This is a cryptic story! :D

(from a 2chan thread)

This is a story I heard on a radio program a few years back:

"I was folding some clothes when I suddenly had this weird feeling and looked back behind me.
And there I saw the back view of myself reflected in the mirror."

I have a fairly large mirror at one corner of my room.
When I read >>24 I too nervously looked into the mirror,
and got freaked out because there was a person standing behind me at the window, and our eyes met in the mirror.

But once I calmed down I realised it was just a reflection of myself in the window... I'm such a dope LOL.

The reason I keep posting cryptic stories is that they are usually short and easy to translate. LOL

I have translucent windows and no mirror in my room. It is safer that way because just seeing my face on the mirror is worse than seeing a ghost. My old mirror also maybe have gotten scared of me because I woke up to it breaking. My phone's front camera also doesn't want to work for some reason.

The second is indeed creepy but one should not be able to see one's back if you turn around. The first one is the creepy one.

Creepy since the reflection in the window was supposed to be the person's back and not the front but both the reflection and the person are facing to the mirror. Btw, I have a mirror near my window so will give it a try! haha.

This is why I don't like mirrors. (My only usage of mirrors are only for self check or seeing something with angles my sight can't reach.)

#1 You can't see your backview in a mirror. It should have been a frontview!
#2 He looked into the mirror, and see a "reflection" of himself in the window. He should had seen his backview and not another image staring back!

Mirror ---> | <--- man looking | <-- window

It's a quick read that will linger on your thoughts for longer than the time you finish reading. It's drapes closed and sheets over mirrors for me tonight then. Haha..

The first commenter shouldn't have been seeing the 'back view' of themselves if they had turned to look in the mirror - they should be seeing their front since they'd turned to face it!

I don't mind admitting - I'm totally terrified of mirrors and avoid staring into one as much as I can! That's a weird fear to have I know, but they make me so uncomfortable - I'm just expecting something scary when I look at a mirror!

Everyone else has already cracked it, and I agree with what they said. Both are quite creepy, but the first one took the cake for me, I just have strong this fear of seeing my reflection being "out of synch" with me... and it just staying still after you turned so you could see your own back would be terrifying!

But oh heavens, if I look to the left while sitting by my computer, I can see my reflection on a full body mirror in the guest room across the hallway. It already made me uncomfortable sometimes, now it'll be even worse xD

Thanks a lot for this cryptic story! Take care and until next time

I love the cryptic stories because I over analyze a lot of things so this is in a way a "practical" usage of that.

I missed that on the second one. Very Nice.
Thank you everyone! LOL
Hi! How are you? Is that your family in your profile picture? So sweet!
Thank you for your comment! :D <3
LOL What is happening to your face? Maybe you are too good-looking or something.
Someone told me before that if you have two mirrors facing each other and see your reflection in them, the thirteenth reflection of yourself is your face at the moment of your death. I tried it once but the thirteenth reflection was too far back for me to see it. I don't think anyone can see it. Maybe it's a good thing it is that way XD
Oh, How did it go? LOL I'm glad your ears stopped ringing! It must have been annoying to have such a condition.
So many creepy stories that center around mirrors, don't they? :D I have to check mirrors more often than I would have liked to, because I use organic products for my make-up and they tend to create smudges under my eyes. Too bad I have sensitive skin XD
Oh, well done! Very well explained. You would make a very good teacher! :D
I too avoid looking into a mirror soon after I've read creepy stories! XD So I know how you feel!
Oh! Don't have a mirror close by while you are visiting my blog! XD
But no worries. Bad spirits don't go anywhere near good girls like you!

Thank you, dear Gabriel, you take care and have a nice day too :D <3

Thank you for assuming I look good rather than mirrors and cameras fear me xD

I would totally agree with not wanting to see the thirteenth one as well.

Yay! I'm so happy to see you back. I missed your stories.
Thank you dear. But why is your name あの人? LOL

Tried it but as I got a bad eyesight and the second mirror being too small it obviously ended in failure :(
@1CC Oh! You are a brave one! LOL

Saya is back! :DDD i do love these cryptic ones, it's so fun to have that shiver when you figure them out.

hmm, a 13th reflection is your death face..? reminds me of my grandpa's apartment, he had two closets facing each other covered in mirrors. i used to play between them and watch the ring of reflections become a crowd of waving arms! I think i'd be too scared to try that now wwww
I'm glad to have put a smile on your face!:D

Hi, Saya. I was wondering about the thirteenth reflection you mentioned. If there are two mirrors, which reflection should you look at? Is it the 13th reflection from the front mirror or the 13th reflection from the back mirror? Or it doesn't matter?
Hi Saya, I hope you're doing great! Sorry to post here since it is an old post, but I knew someone close that had two mirrors facing each other as soon as you entered their house. Every time I visited it gave me the chills. One day they decided to remove them because a visitor told them that there was a portal there between the two mirrors and it brought them nothing but bad luck. The father got cancer, they all lost their jobs, they even got evicted and as soon as they removed the mirrors, their luck changed! The father is now in remission, the daughters found great jobs and the wife found a great job as well. They're doing very well now. That really creeped me out, mirrors are indeed creepy and dangerous. Too bad we need them so much!
