Whenever I stayed over at a friend's house, I almost always had the same dream. A dream about being trapped in a confined space.
It also felt quite real. I would find myself inside a very narrow space where I could hardly move my body, in complete darkness, and I would bang on the wall and scream, but no one was coming to help, and the air was getting thinner and thinner.
I would always wake up just before I died, drenched in sweat.
One time, I couldn't wake up from the dream for a long time.
Even when I got to the part where I usually woke up, I was still stuck in the dream.
"This is just a dream," I told myself in my mind over and over again, and threw myself against the wall, until I could finally wake up.
As I sat up in bed, wheezing heavily, I noticed something strange.
A faint noise was coming from the kitchen next to the place where I slept.
Not only that, but the noise sounded somehow familiar.
When I turned my head to that direction, and realised the situation, I felt my blood run cold.
The noise was coming from inside a fridge, intermittently.
And it sounded very much like my own voice.
"Help!" "Get me out of here!" --- I heard the same screams that were previously emitted by myself in the dream.
If I remember right, I think the fridge itself was shaking slightly.
Eventually, the noise stopped, and then silence returned to the room.
I sat up for a while, trying to figure out what had happened, but I got too lazy and went back to sleep.
Next day, I told my friend what happened, and she told me that she had experienced similar things before.
To her, it wasn't so much creepy as annoying because she wasn't getting enough sleep. She moved out of the house not long after.
I sometimes still wonder what really happened at the time.

As for this story, maybe the place is also haunted or the item itself (the fridge). Because why would they have the exact same dream to begin with? They better call an exorcist or burn thay fridge.lol

This is actually quite creepy. Since it's not a rare occurrence that if you ever find an abandoned refrigerator in the wild.... better be prepared for what's probaby going to be inside.. usually dead bodies of humans or animals... or dead children, as in the child went hide and seek and got trapped inside.
that's also the reason the movie back to the future used delorean car instead of refrigerator as originally planned.
I also read about the story of a US Navy personnel who found a fridge floating in the sea in southeast Asia, only to find a mummified corpse with clawmarks on the inner of the fridge, implying the poor person was probably buried alive..at sea.
or the one from Russia, about a man who murdered his wife, placed her in the fridge for years. The corpse was only discovered years later by the new owner of the house when the murederer moved away.
there was also this story about a new home owner who keeps getting extremely high electric bill even when they aren't using much. as it found out, the previous owner killed his wife and put the corpse in the fridge in basement then buried the entrance while the fridge is still running all those years causing high electric bill.
Well it's just scary how usual everyday appliances can also be source of horror.

I didn't know Back to the Future originally planned to use the fridge. Yes it wouldn't have been a good idea, as we hear children accidentally trapped inside a fridge or a washing machine not infrequently π
I have heard of that last story before! I wonder of it's true. I thought it was an urban legend!

And whenever they're "awake", they were actually dreaming they were awake. But the reality is they're not conscious at all.

Another interesting story! Man those dreams are really scary. I used to always have one weird one where I would start going down the escalator and suddenly jump off the side. I woke up before I could hit the floor. Wonder what that was about. I'm glad I don't see that dream anymore haha
I also have a..shared? one with my brother at our old house. We were both in our rooms when I heard the doorbell ring. I ran out, went past his room and opened the door. I can still remember that what I saw was just a black figure. Like a shadow person. I was terrified and unable to move until I heard my brother shout "WHAT IS THAT?! CLOSE THE DOOR!" and I could finally move and slam the door shut. That's when I woke up . I was dreaming all this time LOL
But the shared part is my brother came to my room and asked did I open the door and see something strange. He had the exact same dream and could remember shouting at me...
Well I didn't expect to write all that but this dream story reminded me of the past π€£

The most intriguing part of the story to me, was when the narrator could still hear their screams inside the fridge despite being awake, it's like the fridge or whatever is possessing it, gets its energy through the discomfort it causes to the people in the house when they sleep.
It's interesting how everyday stuff can be the lead to a good scary story π
Anw, here is my story.
A relative of mine, Andy, and his wife, Alina, used to rent an old apartment temporarily as their new apartment is under renovation. They only brought over the essentials since they are going to be renting for a short while Talk about coincidence, one of their old friend, Kenny, lives right across his unit. That kinda make their stay a little easier. Right?
Anyway.
One day, Andy and his wife decided to go on a short vacation. It was for a week. Before leaving, he asked Kenny for help in receiving mails and packages that would be delivered to his place. They exchanged numbers and left soon after.
Few days went by. Andy and his wife were enjoying themselves when he received a text message from Andy.
The conversation goes like this;
(Neighbour) - 'Man~ You seem pissed. Had a fight? Hahaha!'
(Andy) - 'Seem pissed? Fight? What are you talking about all of a sudden, Ken? You trippin?'
(Neighbour) - 'Nice try. You're so good at this, Andy. Let's see how long you can keep this up XD'
(Andy) - 'Look. I've no clue what you're on about. Me and Alina are at the beach right now. You must be bored without me hahaha!'
(Neighbour) - '?? You're serious, right? Please tell me you're not joking, Andy. You're scaring me right now.'
(Andy) - 'Is everything alright?? You sound weird.'
(Neighbour) - 'Err nevermind. I'll see you when you're back. Have fun.'
Andy knew that something wasn't right, so he told his wife what happened. They cut the trip short and drove home immediately.
It was already late when they reached home and decided to approach Kenny the next day.
The following morning, Andy meet up with Kenny.
'Yo Ken. What's up, man? What's going on with you last night?.' asked Andy.
'Hey guys. Look, I'm so sorry to interrupt your vacation. I really didn't mean to. I was just chilling in the living room yesterday when all of a sudden I saw you came out of the elevator and walk towards your unit. I called your name a few times. You came to a halt, turned towards me without saying anything and went in. I kid you not Andy.' said Kenny.
'Wait what?? You saw "me"? You know that wasn't me, right? Hold up. You mean that "thing" is in the house right now???' asked Andy.
They went back to the house, packed whatever they could while the sun is still up, and booked the hotel for the night.
And that was the last time they went back to the unit.
OFW means Overseas Filipino Worker. Searching "ofw freezer" will yield plentiful results.
It's sad that there are people who treat other human beings like that!
My theory is that this "house" had history of murder? Or maybe someone died there. And the way that the spirit reaches out to current tenants is by showing what "happened" to them. It's a pretty horrible way to die, I am scared of getting locked or buried alive T__T
I totally relate to the author's reaction though. Life is too hard to be worried about ghosts @_@
